The power conferences are dominating the NCAA tournament picture

At this juncture in the college hockey season, with nearly everyone having returned from the break and a couple of games already played, attention pivots towards the races for conference regular-season championships and the qualification for the national tournament.
While there are certainly a few teams currently outside the NCAA picture (consider the top 20 or so in the Pairwise) that could embark on substantial winning streaks in the second half and, at the very least, present a compelling case for themselves, the questions remain: which teams fit this description, and how probable is their success?
