CCHA race currently too close to call

The stretch run in the CCHA should be fascinating.

There are five teams in this eight-team conference above .500 in conference play, all of which have the power to win the regular-season title or at least claim a home-ice spot.

From first-place St. Thomas (27 points from 14 games) to fifth-place Michigan Tech (19 points from 12 games), there's very little separating the top teams, and very little to recommend the bottom three.

Assessing which team in the conference is most likely to win a lot the rest of the way is difficult, and not just because results between relatively evenly matched hockey teams is almost completely random. No league had a worse non-conference record than the CCHA's 19-47-9 (.313) this season, so to look at these team
