EP Rinkside NCAA January power rankings

Non-conference play is more or less over.

Now, it's all on teams hoping to qualify for the NCAA tournament to solidify their conference standings and ensure they put themselves in the best possible position to get into the top 14, against opponents who know them all too well.

But looking at the power rankings from myself, Sean Shapiro, Sara Civian, and J.D. Burke this month, I'm struck by how unequivocal it is: All four of us consider Boston College to be the best team in the country, Boston University to be second-best. But then a big mishmash between several other teams to see who's next after that. Feels about right, given how the season has progressed overall, and how things have gone more recently.
