TORONTO, Ontario – Jeremy Swayman has seen the move countless times.
David Pastrňák in a shootout, or a controlled breakaway situation, where the Boston Bruins forward delays and drags the puck behind, effectively leaving additional time and space to shoot either high glove or high blocker.
It’s a move Pastrňák has mastered in practice with the Bruins, working on it at the end of practice, often against Swayman.
So when Pastrňák had a shootout attempt in the NHL All-Star semifinal, against Swayman, both knew what was going to happen.
The Bruins forward was going to shoot high, it was only a question of whether it would be stick or glove side.

“Him and I actually work on that quite a bit,” Swayman said. “I can’t believe he got me tonight."
