Fantasy Hockey Feature: Conor Geekie's extra large potential

Conor Geekie was taken 11th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in 2022. The Coyotes liked him so much that they traded the 27th, 34th, and 45th overall picks to the San Jose Sharks in order to select him. So, was it worth it? While it’s too early to make that determination, we can check in on how Geekie is progressing. Does he look like he will be a top-six forward? What is his fantasy upside? We’ll dig into those questions and much more.

The EP Rinkside team had Geekie ranked 17th so we felt it was a bit of a reach for the Coyotes at 11. The team rated his puckhandling and passing as his best skills with skating being the worst. The real sticking point with his projection was that he lacked high-end upside and seemed to be more of a middle-six forward than a top-six.
