The big takeaways from the 2024 NHL trade deadline

It has been some kind of trade deadline week for us here. Over the past couple of days I've already written up deep dives breaking down the moves we'd like to see, the tandem of deals the Colorado Avalanche made to creatively address their biggest need, how the Vegas Golden Knights keep finding ways to aggressively improve their team with no expenses spared, and why being the team to land Jake Guentzel is such a massive win for the Carolina Hurricanes both on and off the ice.

Now that the dust has settled and the deadline has passed, we can start to properly take stock of where everything stands after all of that player movement. We've already got our pal Ryan Lambert providing trade grades for each move, so we won't necessarily do the usual winners and losers-style recap piece here.
