The Montréal Canadiens may have some regrets about sending David Reinbacher back to EHC Kloten in Switzerland to play out his draft-plus-one season.
It seemed like a smart move at the time. It gave Reinbacher a chance to continue playing close to home, away from Montréal’s pressure cooker-like environment, and to evolve in the same competitive league and organization that turned him into a top NHL prospect. But instead of finding stability, Reinbacher endured what will likely be the worst year of his hockey career.
