It is another season where the Anaheim Ducks are destined for the Draft Lottery, but there has been a lot to be excited about. Let’s look into defenceman Olen Zellweger’s path as a prospect, what he’s done in his brief NHL tenure, and what we might expect from him in the fantasy game in seasons to come.
To say analysts were divided on Zellweger in his draft year would be an understatement. The 2021 Elite Prospects Draft Guide had the blue liner 28th overall, while The Athletic’s Corey Pronman ranked him 37th with Scott Wheeler slotting him 47th. Bob McKenzie of TSN rated Zellweger 45th, Ryan Kennedy of The Hockey News pushed Zellweger down to 85th, and Central Scouting ranked the rearguard 45th among North American skaters alone.
