The University of Denver Pioneers are your 2024 NCAA men's hockey national champions after beating the Boston College Eagles 2-0 to secure their 10th title in program history.

Matt Davis led the way in goal, stopping all 35 shots that the Eagles sent his way, and a pair of unlikely heroes helped secure the win upfront. It was as closely contested a hockey game as you'll see in some time, and a bounce here or there could've made all the difference.

Ultimately, though, the stifling Pioneers team defence with their trademark 2-2-1 neutral zone trap is such that those bounces are hard to come by. And in that sense, Denver head coach David Carle really is one of the stars of the NCAA tournament, and perhaps one of the rising stars in the coaching world period.
