One of the big reasons I do this job, of just saying what my opinions are about hockey, is that I am not what you'd call a "corporate guy."
There are a lot of them. They love going to work and being in meetings and all that stuff. I don't have the brain for it. If I'm in a meeting and someone asks a question, I feel like they're asking the teacher to give us a little more homework. "Aren't we all just trying to get out of here? No?"
So maybe I'm just not the right guy to have this opinion, but I feel like if you are very publicly negotiating with your extremely successful coach in the middle of a playoff run, that's not good from an HR and team morale standpoint.
