Showing Out and Missing Out: Best and worst performances from the 2024 U18 World Hockey Championships

ESPOO, Finland – The U18 World Hockey Championships was one for the record books – literally! There were so many records broken at this event that it was difficult to keep track.

It began with Cole Hutson becoming the USNTDP defenceman leader in all-time assists and concluded with Cole Eiserman becoming the USNTDP leader in all-time goals.

In between, we had James Hagens breaking Nikita Kucherov’s single-tournament scoring record. Gavin McKenna becoming the most accomplished draft-minus-two skater, and the most productive Canadian ever in a single tournament. Then there was Porter Martone passing Connor Bedard for the most points all-time by a Canadian at this event.
