Zayne Parekh and Saginaw aren't lacking confidence heading into the Memorial Cup
SAGINAW, Michigan – On paper, it’s one of the strongest fields we’ve ever seen for a Memorial Cup.
The London Knights have won five straight, having swept the championship of the Ontario Hockey League. The Drummondville Voltigeurs have done the same, having swept the championship series of the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League. And the Moose Jaw Warriors have won six straight, dating back to their conference final and sweep of the Western Hockey League championship series.
It’s the first time in the history of the event that the three championship teams have entered the Memorial Cup via sweep.
It also isn’t a point of fear for the Saginaw Spirit, who fell to the London Knights in six games in the OHL Western Conference final.
