Memorial Cup 3 Stars: Oliver Bonk, Michael Simpson help London shutdown Drummondville

SAGINAW, Michigan – No team at the 2024 Memorial Cup lost fewer postseason games than the London Knights, who went 16-2 en route to clinching the J. Ross Robertson Trophy.

And though the Drummondville Voltigeurs only lost one more game during their QMJHL championship run, they were unable to generate any sort of consistent momentum in their first game of the tournament.

The Knights stymied the Voltigeurs on nearly every breakout. When they were able to break into the zone cleanly, London blocked nearly every attempt to pass the puck through the slot.

And when Drummondville did get clean looks in tight, Michael Simpson was more than up to the task, posting his first shutout at the Memorial Cup by making 31 saves.
