Denton Mateychuk is had one of the best seasons for a defenceman in the WHL. He led his Moose Jaw Warriors to the WHL championship and a Memorial Cup appearance. With so much excitement around the Columbus Blue Jackets defender, it’s worthwhile to check in on his season and future projection.
Mateychuk was drafted 12th overall by the Blue Jackets in 2022. As a July 12th birthdate, he remained only 19-years-old for the entirety of his draft-plus-two season. His production is even more impressive, considering just how young he is.
