Where do the Dallas Stars go from here?

There's good news and bad news for the Dallas Stars this summer.

The good news for the Stars is that they don't really have to make many decisions about the vast majority of their best players. Basically everyone who's a pending UFA is well past 30 and relatively inexpensive.

That means the vast majority of players on their young and extremely good team are locked in at least through the end of next season, and there aren't really many considerations that need to be made apart from, like, addressing depth.

But there is one notable exception to that: Joe Pavelski, who turns 40 in July and is once again headed to unrestricted free agency. His regular season was still quite good, especially for his age; he was second on the Stars in points and fifth in WAR despite playing under 17 minutes a night
