Film Room: Cole Eiserman scored at an elite junior level, but so have others who have failed before
Few players have drawn as much attention and generated as much discourse as Cole Eiserman in the 2024 NHL Draft.
The American winger came into the year with some wind in his sails, perhaps even enough to push him into a competition with his best friend Macklin Celebrini for the first-overall pick, but it didn't last long. As Celebrini distanced himself from the pack, Eiserman's inconsistencies and play away from the puck sent him sliding in the opposite direction.
At least, that's how many in the industry felt about what they saw from him in person and over video. What he accomplished on the scoresheet was fitting of a top-10 pick, if not higher. Now, we're tasked with making sense of it all.
