Film Room: Emil Hemming has the shot and the power game to make an impact at the NHL level
It seems like Finland has had at least one borderline elite shooter in every draft for some time now. Samu Tuomaala, Joakim Kemell, Jani Nyman, and Kasper Halttunen from the previous three years come to mind.
In this draft class, that player is Emil Hemming.
The 6-foot-1 winger started the season on a torrid scoring pace between his performance as Finland's top forward at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup to putting up 13 points in his first six games with TPS' U20 team.
As the scoring continued, it only became a matter of time before TPS would call on Hemming to play with their men's team in Liiga. And when that opportunity came in late September, he managed to carve out a full-time role with TPS, adding 11 points in 40 games in bottom-six minutes.
