Film Room: The unique ways Liam Greentree controls the game make him a top prospect
There were no easy nights for Liam Greentree.
Windsor struggled all season long, but Elite Prospects' No. 15-ranked prospect for the 2024 NHL Draft kept making highlight reel plays.
By the end of the season, Greentree amassed a collection of highlights that rival anyone in the draft class, and he did it without any free points. He had 24 more points than the next highest-scoring Windsor Spitfire, five more goals, and five more primary assists than any of his teammates had total assists.
Like many top prospects, Greentree's core skill is getting the puck to the middle of the rink. Flashy rushes followed by cuts across the slot or a drive to the net partially power that, but it's more in Greentree's special quick-possession game, high cycle creation, and even manipulation skills from the point that resembles a defenceman more than a winger.
Here's how he does it.
