The Edmonton Oilers had a magical run to the Stanley Cup Final that most teams would kill to have, both as a team and financially for the entire franchise. And while, yeah, they blew it in Game 7 and had a bunch of no-show performances at the top of the lineup, the good news is that they're in a really strong position to bring back basically everyone they want to for next season.

While the Oilers currently have more than $38 million in cap space, and they only need to spend that money on a handful of middle-six forwards and a few defencemen, it's not as simple as just spending all that money on expensive free agents and shuffling some guys down the depth chart.
