Future Vision: Anton Frondell's playmaking and two-way game could make him a top-three pick in 2025
The 2024 draft was an unusually weak one for Sweden. For the first time in 15 years, not a single player from that corner of the hockey world heard their name called in the first round.
This year, things will get back to normal. The 2025 NHL Draft is going to be an exceptionally good one for Sweden, with a handful of players entering the year as projected first-round picks.
None have generated more hype than Anton Frondell.
Frondell's résumé speaks for itself. The 6-foot-tall centre's 1.39 points-per-game pace in the J20 Nationell is the fifth-best mark in the last decade among draft-plus-one skaters with at least 25 games played. For that, Djurgårdens rewarded him with a handful of games with their men's team in the HockeyAllsvenskan.
