Prospect Pool Rankings

EP Rinkside 2024 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 20-ranked Toronto Maple Leafs

With only mid-rounders and occasional late-firsts to work with, it's a testament to the Toronto Maple Leafs' scouting and development staff that they keep landing in competitive spots in our prospect pool rankings. They actually rose five spots despite the graduations of Matthew Knies and Joseph Woll, two top prospects at their positions.

That rise comes from the emergence of Easton Cowan as a top forward prospect, while several others took significant steps this season.

Previously, the strength of the Leafs' pool was its plethora of smaller, high-IQ forwards. That has changed with recent picks. Now, hard-skill forwards, bigger defencemen, and goaltenders are starting to dominate their pool while still ensuring there's plenty of upside to be had.
