Prospect Pool Rankings

EP Rinkside 2024 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 17-ranked Colorado Avalanche

With a star-studded NHL lineup and three straight 50-plus win seasons, it's no surprise that the Colorado Avalanche aren't ranked particularly highly in a prospect pool ranking.

But it's tough to say they've done a poor job. The organization has a very strong top-end group of prospects, headlined by one of the CHL's biggest breakout stars, Calum Ritchie. They might not have the depth of those ranked around them, but their superior star power allows them to punch above their weight.

Making matters more interesting, several players are on the cusp of earning NHL jobs and could provide immediate help to the Avs' Stanley Cup aspirations.

Though still very much a prospect, Sam Malinski is considered graduated by Calder eligibility.
