Fantasy Hockey Feature: Josh Doan
Josh Doan grew up playing in the Phoenix area because of his father. Shane Doan is an icon of Arizona sports. Drafted seventh overall in 1995 by the Winnipeg Jets, he only played one season in Winnipeg before the franchise relocated to Phoenix. He proceeded to play 1,466 NHL games for the Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes, including the last 13 as captain.
When it came time for Josh Doan’s draft season in 2020, he was buried on a stacked Chicago Steel team where he garnered only 14 points in 45 games with an average of 10:58 time on ice and failed to hear his name called at the draft. During the 2020-21 season, Doan’s draft plus one season, his ice time skyrocketed up to 18:46 and he scored 70 points in 53 games.
