Kashawn Aitcheson is a talented 6-foot-tall, first-time draft-eligible defender. Even in the contemporary NHL, there aren't many players at the position with that physical profile. For some reams, it might even be a non-starter.
If you can play well enough with the puck, skate well enough, and hold up physically, though, then you've got a chance.
"I say I guess I’m not 6-foot-4, but I think I play that game,” Aitcheson stated. “Obviously, you can see the way I throw my body around. It’s a part of hockey – dropping the gloves with some bigger guys. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty there. I may be 6-foot, but I can play like 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5.”
Even at the Midget level, Aitcheson was a player to be dealt with. He was a factor on the ice, and that’s something that’s innate to him.
