Some NHL training camp surprises and their fantasy hockey impact

The North American portion of the NHL regular season is finally underway. Every year, there are roster surprises around the league as teams break camp. It is worth looking at some of the more notable roster changes that can have a fantasy hockey impact early in the season and what fantasy managers should do about it. 

Jett Luchanko 

Perhaps the biggest roster surprise was Luchanko making the Philadelphia Flyers roster. The 13th overall draft pick from 2024 obviously impressed head coach John Tortorella, and the team opened the regular season over the weekend with a back-to-back in Western Canada. Luchanko skated 14:36 in the first game while being healthy scratched for the second.
