The Columbus Blue Jackets look to be parting ways with David Jiříček sooner rather than later, potentially putting an end to a tumultuous dance with their top prospect.

The two parties could never seem to get on the same page.

Jiříček appears to believe he belongs in the NHL. He scored at a high rate with the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus’ affiliate, and imposed his will over many games, but the Jackets’ coaching staff have their doubts about the defenceman’s ability to perform with the main team.
