Fantasy Hockey Feature: Conor Geekie's upside is as large as he is

Tampa Bay Lightning rookie forward Conor Geekie has just six points but is already showing signs of what made him the key piece to the Mikhail Sergachev trade and the 11th overall pick in 2022. Let’s dig through Geekie’s prospect path, what he’s done as an NHL rookie, and what it tells us about his future. 

The 2022 Elite Prospect Draft Guide had Geekie ranked 17th overall. The top of his scouting report has an important note, “There was a time this season when Geekie looked like a contender to crack the top 5… I would describe his place on a shifting board more as other players rising than Geekie falling.” Standing 6’4” with good hands, playmaking, and hockey sense, he had the tools teams want in a future franchise centre.
