Arizona Coyotes terminate assistant GM Steve Sullivan's contract

The Arizona Coyotes terminated the contract of former assistant general manager and executive vice president of hockey operations Steve Sullivan on Thursday. He was also the GM for the AHL affiliate in Tucson the past three seasons.

The 46-year-old played 16 seasons in the NHL, one for the Coyotes, before joining the front office as a player development coach in 2014-15. He became the club’s director of player development in 2016-17, before becoming the assistant GM in 2017-18.

He took over as GM following the abrupt departure of John Chayka in July 2020, until Bill Armstrong was hired in September.

The Coyotes will not fill the vacancy left by Sullivan this season.
