Trade Analysis: Boston Bruins acquire Hampus Lindholm from the Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks had a big decision to make on Hampus Lindholm as they closed on the March 21st trade deadline. As it started to creep closer, and the realization that they weren't going to be able to meet in the middle on a long-term extension set in, the next step became obvious.

With him being positioned as the biggest name of the rental defenders available on the market, they were going to net a return that made it worth their while. The only remaining questions to be sorted out were the details of what that package would entail, and which team would be the ones sending it to them.

We now have our answer to both, with the Boston Bruins paying a premium for his services. Now let's get into the fun stuff, breaking down the deal from the perspective of both teams. To do so, we'll take a look at what this says about Anaheim's competitive timeline, and how Lindholm will look in Boston the rest of the way.
