Trade Analysis: Minnesota Wild acquire Marc-André Fleury from Chicago Blackhawks
I have to admit that I went into today not necessarily expecting to see Marc-André Fleury get traded, just because of everything we'd been hearing. It didn't seem particularly likely that a team that was willing to pay the price the Chicago Blackhawks were looking for in return, would also be one that he'd waive his no-trade clause to go to. Especially after they sent him out there last night to get lit up by the Winnipeg Jets, with a nightmare scenario of him trying to stop a puck with a bare hand flashing before our eyes.
But that turned out not to be the case, with the Minnesota Wild stepping up to the plate as a landing spot for him at the deadline. The fit is a rather intriguing one, with a lot of upside for everyone involved.
