Dallas Stars sign Pavelski to a one-year extension

The Dallas Stars signed centre Joe Pavelski to a one-year contract extension on Sunday.

The deal includes a $3.5 million base salary with potential for $2 million in performance bonuses.

Pavelski, 38, has appeared in all 38 games during the 2022-23 season, ranking third on the team in points (12-25—37), second in assists (25) and tied for second in power-play goals (7) and ranking fourth in goals (12). His +23 plus-minus rating paces the team and ranks second in the NHL.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue being a member of the Stars organization,” said Pavelski in a team-issued press release. “Sarah, Nate and I have loved being part of this team and Dallas/Fort Worth community for the past four years. We have an incredible group of players in this locker room, and I am excited to continue to work with my teammates toward our goal of winning the Stanley Cup.”
